Review of Reviews: The Wolf of Wall Street

Leonardo DiCaprio plays the life of Jordan Belfort in a hit movie about a young man opening up his own firm, Stratton Oakmont. He makes a fortune by defrauding and playing investors. While becoming successful and having his whole life become a party, the SEC and FBI are one step behind him to catch his mistake. On Rotten Tomatoes The Wolf of Wall Street scored a 72% which is is a certified fresh tomato at Rotten Tomatoes. The critics consensus says ," Funny, self-referential, and irreverent to a fault, The Wolf of Wall Street finds Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio at their most infectiously dynamic."
My first review is from Brad Keefe from Columbus Alive. His post was a normal tomato meaning it was good. Keefe said, "It's another variation on Scorsese's favorite kind of a story, the rise and fall. In this case, he and frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio go on a full-out cinematic bender." I completely agree with Brad because we have not seen Leonardo play this kind of a role in any of his acting career. He had to step out of his comfort zone and play a crazy, adrenaline junkie that was in the stock market in the 1990s. My next review is from Rotten Tomato as well from Richard Brody from the New Yorker. He says,"Scorsese unleashes a furious, yet exquisitely controlled, kinetic energy, complete with a plunging and soaring camera, mercurial and conspicuous special effects, counterfactual scenes, subjective fantasies, and swirling choreography on a grand scale." I completely agree with this review because this whole movie is like it's on an energy drink. There's always something going on and it never gets boring. All in all i enjoyed the movie very much and is one of my favorite these two reviews would explain how i felt about this movie.
As for my negative reviews, it also comes from Rotten tomato. My first negative review is from Joe Morgenstern from the Wall Street Journal... ironically. He says that ,"I couldn't buy it, and couldn't wait for the hollow spectacle to end." Many brokers from Wallstreet where not fond of this movie because they think it portrays the stocks in a negative form. I didn't think this movie was hollow I thought it was filled with excitement through out the whole movie. It was difficult to find any top review critics that were negative, so I guess that was a good thing...
